Abstract

1. Introduction

The Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) systems management project in IS0 provides such a common infrastructure. This infrastructure also has been adopted by CCITT and is used for the specification of the telecommunications management network (TMN).

As applied to systems and network management, information essentially plays two roles: information associated with management processes, and information representing physical and logical resources subject to management [1].

Base on the Multi-Agent System with basic research and Multi-Agent Intelligent Management Information System for theory and application, to design a framework for intelligent management information system model thereby achieve this model’s implementation strategy [3].

Network management standardization covers two complementary aspects: (1) the nature and structure of the necessary information for the purpose of Network Management, (2) the appropriate Network Management services and protocols accessing this information [4].

 

1.1 System Management Information Modeling

Information associated with management processes is concerned with such entities as customer records, trouble records, log records, etc. Representing this information involves the modeling of the process and defining the information associated with that process. The information associated with a management process generally is manipulated only by management operations.

Information representing physical and logical resources is concerned with such entities as the abstraction of communication equipment, physical logs, event discriminators, etc. Representing this information first requires modeling those aspects of the resource that are of interest to management [1].

1.2 Iterative Multi-Tier Management Information Modeling

The management information models currently used in the Internet have several limitations.

A method proposed to alleviate these problems by adopting a new process for designing and standardizing management information models. It is inspired by two techniques from software engineering.

1.3 Management Information Base Implementation

Network management standardization covers two complementary aspects: (1) the nature and structure of the necessary information for the purpose of Network Management, (2) the appropriate Network Management services and protocols accessing this information [4]

A tool called MINT (Management Information support Tool) developed which generates programs accessing management information from the network management information template notation [4].
